We don’t expect you to have a background in everything we use, but we do expect strong Java fundamentals and experience building scalable infrastructure and backend solutions.
What you'll do
Your mission
We are looking for a passionate Senior Backend Engineer with 5+ years of experience with a builder mindset to grow our Backend team.
- 75% of your time will be working as part of a product squad (Threat Intelligence, Market Intelligence or Core/AI Platform) defining and building the backend for various user-facing features. You will closely collaborate with Product, Design, Frontend, and Machine Learning.
- 25% of your time will focused on improving the existing platform (improving database or infrastructure performance or redesigning some of our oldest systems: polling, billing, routing, secrets management, etc.).
Your responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and optimize Java web and long-running applications.
- Write clean, reusable, scalable, efficient code.
- Work with product managers and frontend engineers to design and implement RESTful JSON APIs to support new features.
- Confidently ship small features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members, collaborate with the team on larger projects.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Review bug reports, troubleshoot and fix issues, and support the customer support & customer success teams.
